"Children Learning for Life in Christ"

Parents across Texas and around the country are making the decision to provide their children a Christian education. Cross of Christ supports and supplements the efforts of the parents in the Christian home to foster growth in Christian character and the development of a Christian world view.

We work hard at establishing and maintaining a school aura where kindness prevails in a Christian family atmosphere. We genuinely care and love the children God places into our care. This shows in the relationship among teachers, staff, parents/guardians, and children. We value this important dynamic of our school and welcome your child(ren) into our family!

Why Choose Us?

Many schools or day-care centers that promote summer-only programs may not be certified with the state of Texas.  Our school takes pride in receiving high scores from both local and state licensing.  One such quality rating and improvement system for early childhood programs is the Texas Rising Star. We are proud that our center has the highest 4-star rating! To learn more about Texas Rising Star, click here.

In addition to high quality standards, we also have a low teacher-to-student ratio which helps foster your child's development as they play, learn, and grow.

Be sure and conduct thorough research before placing your children in the hands of an under-aged, untrained teacher.

Quick Facts

Cross of Christ Lutheran School opened in 2000, beginning with a Mother’s Day Out Program. From there, we quickly grew to be a full year program. We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 child care facility certified with Texas Rising Star as a 4-star center.

Our teachers and staff come from various background experience and have extensive training in child care. All teachers and staff undergo a complete criminal history background check, are CPR and first aid certified, and attend various training workshops throughout the year.  Our energetic, friendly, and loving Christian staff is here to ensure your child has a pleasant, clean, safe and fun place to learn and become the best they can become.

Our Programs/Curriculum

Our programs and curriculum are based on ages. We focus on a purposeful, balanced approach to nurturing happy hearts, active minds, and healthy bodies.  For toddlers, we use Adaycare  and Early Start.

Adaycare has been developed for children ages 1 through 2 years of age.  The basis of the curriculum introduces children to the alphabet, numbers and shapes.  Weekly themes such as learning about frogs in June and birds in August teach the children about the animal kingdom.  This curriculum is a fun way to learn utilizing games; crafts and songs to prepare the children for the next stage of their education, preschool.

Early Start is a preschool curriculum geared towards 3 through 5 year olds and engages the children through fun activities and exciting games.  The multi-faceted program helps children learn about responsibility and social behavior allowing them to be a better person.  Children learn an appreciation for education and will likely enjoy learning for the rest of their life.  Behavioral skills help the children learn how to behave in a structured classroom and set the foundation of good behavioral skills they can use during the rest of their education.  This hands-on learning is both enjoyable and educational.

For children 2 years, through the transition into the school district, and up to the 2nd grade; we use Investigator Club.

Investigator Club is an early childhood curriculum that focuses on children's critical thinking, self-confidence, and problem-solving abilities. These are developed through strong teacher-child interactions and a robust Plan/Do/Review process. Our teachers challenge and expand children's critical thinking skills with diverse materials and nurturing interactions. In all our programs, children engage in active learning  (direct, hands-on experiences with people, materials, and ideas).
